Origin & Terroir
The Region

Our coffee comes from distinct coffee-growing regions across Cameroon, each shaped by its own climate, elevation, soils and farming traditions.
Our Arabica is grown in the Ijim Highlands, Oku of northwestern Cameroon, where high elevation, cooler mountain conditions and volcanic soils create a distinctive environment for Arabica cultivation.
Our Robusta comes from Haut-Nkam in Cameroon’s Western Region, where the warmer climate and traditional smallholder farming practices support Robusta cultivation.
Each harvest reflects the character of its landscape and the knowledge, care and dedication of the farming communities behind it.
Altitude

Our coffees are grown across different elevations in Cameroon, with each environment contributing to the character of the coffee.
Arabica is cultivated at high elevation in the Ijim Highlands, at around 2,227 metres above sea level, where cooler mountain conditions can extend cherry maturation and support the development of complex flavour characteristics.
Robusta is cultivated at lower elevations in Haut-Nkam, Western Cameroon, where the warmer growing environment is suited to Robusta production.
The contrast between these growing environments gives each coffee its own distinct agricultural and sensory character.
Rich Volcanic Soils

Cameroon’s volcanic landscapes provide mineral-rich soils that support productive coffee-growing environments. These soils are formed from weathered volcanic materials and can contribute to good soil fertility, drainage and nutrient availability for coffee plants.
Our Arabica from the Ijim Highlands is cultivated in the volcanic highland environment of northwestern Cameroon, where elevation, cooler temperatures and mineral-rich soils create distinctive growing conditions.
Our Robusta from Haut-Nkam in the Western Region is also cultivated within Cameroon’s volcanic landscape, where fertile soils and a warmer climate support traditional Robusta production.
These soil and climate conditions form part of the distinctive character of each origin, alongside variety, farming practices, processing and post-harvest handling.
Climate

Cameroon is shaped by distinct rainy and dry seasons, while its varied geography creates remarkably different climatic conditions across the country. From the cooler, mist-covered highlands to the warmer lowland regions, these contrasting environments provide suitable conditions for cultivating both Arabica and Robusta.
In the highlands, cooler temperatures, seasonal rainfall and mountain mists create favourable conditions for Arabica, supporting slower cherry development and dense bean structure.
In warmer regions such as Haut-Nkam, the climate provides conditions well suited to Robusta, which thrives in warmer growing environments.
This natural diversity allows Cameroon to produce two commercially important coffee species within one country, each shaped by its own climate, elevation and growing environment.
The People

Our coffee is produced by a dedicated cooperative of smallholder farmers who carefully cultivate, harvest, and process each crop. Their knowledge, commitment, and stewardship of the land are at the heart of every bean we share.
Why It Matters

Origin is more than a location, it is part of what shapes a coffee's character. Across Cameroon, differences in elevation, climate, soils, rainfall and farming traditions create distinct growing environments for both Arabica and Robusta.
From the cool, high-altitude Ijim Highlands to the warmer coffee-growing environment of Haut-Nkam, each region contributes its own conditions to the coffee produced there.
Combined with the knowledge and care of the farming communities, these natural differences help make each lot distinctive, traceable and rooted in its place of origin.
FAQS
Can I get a sample before placing an order?
Yes. We encourage roasters to sample the coffee first. You can request a sample, roast it to suit your normal evaluation process, cup it and decide whether it fits your programme before discussing an order. The Sample is accompanied by the coffee profile(all basic information)
What information do you provide with your coffee?
We aim to provide the information a roaster needs to properly evaluate a lot, including origin, variety, altitude, processing, harvest information and available physical or quality specifications.
What are your minimum order quantities?
Our minimum order depends on the requirements of the roaster. We are happy to discuss smaller trial quantities before moving towards larger or ongoing orders.
Can smaller roasters buy from you? Can smaller roasters buy from you?
Yes. We understand that not every roaster is looking for a large volume straight away.
A sample or smaller trial order can be a good starting point, with quantities increasing as the coffee becomes part of your programme.
How fresh is your green coffee?
We prioritise recent harvests and plan procurement around expected requirements where possible.
Our aim is to avoid unnecessary storage time and move coffee through the supply chain in a way that protects its condition.
How do you manage defects?
We work with producer communities and cooperatives around harvesting, processing, drying and handling practices, followed by appropriate sorting and preparation of the coffee.
We don't promise that every bean will be completely defect-free. Instead, we focus on careful handling and low-defect lots that can be properly evaluated before purchase.
Do you supply coffee outside the UK?
Our main focus is currently the UK market, but we can discuss requirements from buyers in other markets depending on the order and logistics.
Can you supply larger volumes?
Yes. We support both smaller trial orders and larger programmes.
For larger requirements, we prefer to discuss the expected volume, specifications and delivery schedule in advance so procurement can be planned properly.Yes. We support both smaller trial orders and larger programmes.

Can I speak to someone about sourcing?
Of course.
If you have a specific requirement or simply want to understand what we currently have available, get in touch. We'd rather have a conversation about what you actually need than send you a generic catalogue.
