Our Story
Co-Founder & UK Representative
Hi, I'm Nanga, the co-founder of Ayaba Coffee and representative here in the UK.
My connection with coffee started in Cameroon, long before Ayaba Coffee.
Coffee cultivation has been part of my family’s heritage for generations, as well as a long standing tradition within my community and neighbouring communities.
I grew up around coffee farms, farmers, cooperatives and the people involved in moving coffee from origin into the wider market.
Members of my family have been part of different coffee cooperatives over the years, giving us strong connections across coffee-growing communities. Through these relationships, our family has built a wide and well-connected network within the coffee supply chain, from farmers and cooperatives to buyers and exporters.
Coffee has also been part of our family’s commercial activity for many years, including the preparation and export of coffee from Cameroon. Growing up around this environment gave me a firsthand understanding of the work that goes into coffee long before it reaches a roaster.
During school holidays, I spent time on our family coffee farms, helping with harvesting. One of my favourite memories is picking ripe, sweet red coffee cherries and seeing the process that followed.
Those experiences shaped the way I see coffee today. A bag of green coffee is not simply a commodity, it represents the farmers who cultivated it, the land where it grew, the communities behind it and the many hands involved in bringing it to market.
Today, I am based in the UK and, through Ayaba Coffee, I am building on that family heritage by connecting Cameroonian coffee-growing communities and our established supply network with UK coffee roasters.
We work with Arabica and Robusta green coffee, giving roasters the opportunity to request samples, evaluate the coffee and build relationships around the lots that fit their needs.
For me, Ayaba Coffee is a continuation of something that has been part of my family and community for generations, creating a direct connection between the coffee grown in Cameroon and the roasters who want to discover it in the UK.
FAQS
Can I get a sample before placing an order?
Yes. We encourage roasters to sample the coffee first. You can request a sample, roast it to suit your normal evaluation process, cup it and decide whether it fits your programme before discussing an order. The Sample is accompanied by the coffee profile(all basic information)
What information do you provide with your coffee?
We aim to provide the information a roaster needs to properly evaluate a lot, including origin, variety, altitude, processing, harvest information and available physical or quality specifications.
What are your minimum order quantities?
Our minimum order depends on the requirements of the roaster. We are happy to discuss smaller trial quantities before moving towards larger or ongoing orders.
Can smaller roasters buy from you? Can smaller roasters buy from you?
Yes. We understand that not every roaster is looking for a large volume straight away.
A sample or smaller trial order can be a good starting point, with quantities increasing as the coffee becomes part of your programme.
How fresh is your green coffee?
We prioritise recent harvests and plan procurement around expected requirements where possible.
Our aim is to avoid unnecessary storage time and move coffee through the supply chain in a way that protects its condition.
How do you manage defects?
We work with producer communities and cooperatives around harvesting, processing, drying and handling practices, followed by appropriate sorting and preparation of the coffee.
We don't promise that every bean will be completely defect-free. Instead, we focus on careful handling and low-defect lots that can be properly evaluated before purchase.
Do you supply coffee outside the UK?
Our main focus is currently the UK market, but we can discuss requirements from buyers in other markets depending on the order and logistics.
Can you supply larger volumes?
Yes. We support both smaller trial orders and larger programmes.
For larger requirements, we prefer to discuss the expected volume, specifications and delivery schedule in advance so procurement can be planned properly.Yes. We support both smaller trial orders and larger programmes.

Can I speak to someone about sourcing?
Of course.
If you have a specific requirement or simply want to understand what we currently have available, get in touch. We'd rather have a conversation about what you actually need than send you a generic catalogue.
